In the News!

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and is ready to start the New Year! Last year I made a New Year's resolution to not buy yarn until I had used all the yarn in one of my storage bins. Well . . . I made it to June and used about half of the yarn stored in the bin. This year I am going to do the same thing. No new yarn until June 1, 2009.

Now the exciting news! The knitting group at my place of employment, Otter B. Knitt'n, made it on the news! Check it out at Knit, Stitch and Loom Talk listed in My Blog List.

Happy New Year to all!

Thriftin'

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week and enjoying the holiday season!!

I went thrift shopping the other day and found these two items.

The first is a milk glass candy dish. I also have a larger one that I purchased at another time.

The other is a marbled green colored dish from Avon.

I took a picture of the dish upside down so you could see the raised rose on the side of the dish.

I don't know how old either of the dishes are, but I just love them.

The yellow doily is something I crocheted when I needed to do something that I could finish quick.

That's it for today. Have a great weekend!!

On My Own!

While traveling through the internet one day I came across a pattern for a neck warmer. Being to tired to look for the pattern, I decided to make one on my own. And this is what I came up with. I used Kraemer Yarns Naturally Nazareth, which I received in a Favorite Things Swap. Although the warmer stretches and can be pulled over your head, I still made button holes. The buttons I used have floral carvings and are just adorable. However, for this project I think I should have chosen bigger buttons.

Here is something else I did on my own! I added pockets, front and back, to the outside of this tote bag! I used upholstery fabric to make this one. The handles are long enough to go over the shoulder and the inside is lined in black.

Both projects were fairly easy to come up with and I can't wait to make more!

Have a great weekend everyone!!
