2nd Post!

Well here is my second post of the year and for the month. I meant to do this post yesterday but I was busy learning to crochet a flower on youtube. I have completed 5 flower since then. I will share them in a later post.

Here are some items that I purchased while thrifting. (Not the cat, that's Mungajerrie. She is named after a character in a Dean Koontz book)

The headboard will be turned into a garden sitting bench. The chair was too cute to pass up. It sits low and has wheels. The cup has a pastel angel, a little shabby chic item. The purple thing is a planter, it will be painted and antiqued. The candleholders will also be painted and antiqued. The box will be painted and lined. I purchased all these items for less than $14.00.

Here is another find, beads, macrame beads. Aren't the colors fun?
I picked t
hese up plus a few extras for $10.00. A few of the beads have already been used in a sewing project the DBF has made.

That's it for now. Have a good evening!

P.S. So far, I'm keepin' up with the New Year's resolution!

2011!

Happy New Year Everyone! This is a bit late due to computer problems. My New Year's resolution was to blog at least twice a month. Yeah, I still have time to blog twice this month!

Although I have not blogged in a while, I have been busy crafting and thrifting.

Totes I made with a Tinkerbell theme. . .

. . . and totes with a Winnie the Pooh theme!

These totes were made in time for me to sell at Christmas time. I am so excited that people like my work!

It has taken me longer than I wanted to publish this post, so good night for now and I will share my thrifting adventures in my next post.

From the Past!

I haven't blogged for awhile so I thought I would show you something I made (back in June).

A money lei! It was a request for a graduation.

Here is another item I made. It was for a 7-year-old girl, who asked me for a surprise. She said her favorite colors were brown and light blue.

I made the shoulder strap long enough to go across the body. It fit her perfectly!

That's it for now. I'm off to have some ice cream!

Have a great weekend!!

From the Past

This is something I made awhile back. The parents of the baby boy who received this quilt, decorated the baby nursery in "Woody" cars.

I thought that theme was unique and interesting. So when I found this fabric online, I was so excited to make this quilt.

I apologize, I was going to post pictures of my latest projects, however, I have not taken any pictures. I will take pictures this weekend and post.

Aloha!

It is official! I am going to Hawaii in July! A vacation that is much needed. Also, by July I will have hit the maximum hours of vacation that I can accumulate and if I don't use them, I will lose them.

This is the first floor of a fabric store in Hawaii. I can't wait to visit it again. At this time I know I will buy some fabric. However, till then I will do my best to not buy any.

I do have some finished projects that I will share in my next post.

I Made It!

I made it through the Stashbuster's Challenge. And I still have not bought any fabric. I made 10 items and used 11.25 yards of fabric.

This is one of the tote bags I made. The patchwork pattern is from the book by Cindy Taylor Oates, Easy to Make Totes with Zippers. The handles and the inside are my own design.

This is another tote bag I made. This one is lined with fusible fleece. I don't know why I was hesitate to use it, but I thought I would give it a try . . . and I like it!

Participating in this challenge was a lot of fun and also a learning experience. I am going to continue to "bust my stash" and see how much fabric I can use before I breakdown and buy some.

I will keep you posted as to how things go.
